One of my favorite locations for photo sessions is of course, Balboa Park!
With so many different areas to choose from, it is easily a favorite location for many photographers to take photos. Even if you don't have a portrait session to shoot, you can walk around and take photos of the historical buildings, botanical garden and enjoy a nice walk while you are there.
Another thing that I like about shooting portrait sessions in Balboa Park is that we can shoot pretty much at any time. The buildings and gardens create areas with open shade so we don't have to worry about having too much direct sunlight even at midday. Weekend evenings can get pretty crowded so I prefer weekday sessions there if possible. Another thing to keep in mind is to look at Balboa Park website to see upcoming events because the last thing you want is to schedule a photo session there on a busy marathon weekend or December Nights! 🫣
